CLOT introduces their Fall Winter 2022 collection entitled “Altered Beast” with a special pop-up at BELOWGROUND.
Mythical creatures, often in the form of altered beasts, lie at the core of ancient folklore in every culture. Created using wild imagination, these legendary creatures are the results of artistic expression, each unique to its culture. The collection is a celebration of the altered beasts from all cultures of the world.
“It was inspired by the concept of explosive mixing and matching,” shares CLOT Founder and Creative Director, Edison Chen. “I’m a history geek who loves Egyptian culture, one of the most striking images of that time is drawings of people that are four different types of things. To understand that culture means you have to let go of everything you think you know, and try to understand what it is that they’re trying to portray.”
To further showcase the creative vision of the collection, Edison Chen invites artist Tetsuya Nagato to create a series of campaign images that feature friends of the brand including actor Yōsuke Kubozuka and model Kozue Akimoto in their mystical form.
The CLOT Fall Winter 2022 “Altered Beast” Collection is now available at the BELOWGROUND pop-up from 24th to 25th September.
