BARBOUR CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF THE BEAUFORT JACKET WITH POP-UP STORE

Barbour, the British heritage brand, continues its overarching Evergreen Icons campaign by celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Beaufort jacket. In commemoration, the brand launches a pop-up store featuring their collection of Beaufort wax jackets, including limited edition anniversary apparel.

Originally designed in 1983 by Dame Margaret Barbour, the brand’s signature style features a corduroy collar, large two-way chunky zip and functional pockets, crafted from the classic 6oz waxed cotton at Barbour’s factory in South Shields. The Beaufort jacket has since become a cult item, beloved by everybody from farmers to musicians, designers to royalty alike.

For the 40th anniversary, Barbour presents a limited-edition of the Beaufort which unites its original features with contemporary hardware, including a back neck label and studs engraved with Beaufort 40. The Beaufort 40 will be available for purchase at the pop-up store in three colourways of sage, navy and olive, alongside the brand’s other signature outerwear.

Reinforcing the long-lasting allure of the Barbour jacket, the brand is also marking the anniversary of the Beaufort with a Re-Loved initiative, where old jackets are given a new lease of life, cleaned, re-waxed and repaired to create a new unique piece. Combined with the Wax for Life sustainability programme, launched in 2020, which offers re-waxing and repairs of all jackets, the brand celebrates the generational power of its iconic outerwear.

The Barbour pop-up is open at BELOWGROUND from 3 November 2023 until 22 November 2023.
