The latest addition to BELOWGROUND is Crescent (@youarecrescent), a revolving community retail space.
The vintage consignment concept is centred around biweekly themes that continuously rotates, allowing for handpicked curation and never-ending selection of unique items.
First up, the theme “Nippon” encompasses a range of collectables and apparel from cult Japanese brands, names and collaborations. The brands include: Undercover, Comme des Garçons, WTAPS, Beams, OriginalFake, and more. Crescent also showcases collectible items from Yayoi Kusama, Nara Yoshitomo, Madsaki and more. Examples of collaboration items include: the Saint Michael x Denim Tears varsity jacket, a pair of 1950s Converse made in Japan, a tote bag by Madsaki and Takashi Murakami, and more.
The space layout is designed as a creative studio/office/showcase where the Crescent team documents the pieces, creating a visual record of the story behind the product. There is a photoshoot corner carved out amidst the shelves and racks of items, and a meeting table as a ‘centrepiece’ in the store.
